Water and Fire

I have been researching movement and have found it very difficult to pick one specific direction to take my work. However I have narrowed down my ideas to Water, Fire or the movement of the human muscle.

The fire is connected to watching a bonfire and i was observing the way in which the flames licked over the objects being burnt. In a way it reminded me of water, how the flames flowed over all the objects. Researching further into flames i connected my work to the sun as it is one big ball of fire, and everything in our solar system revolves around it. It is the centre of everything we know and depend on. I have been looking specifically at the suns appearance and in an encylopedia i have taken pages for my research showing the sun bursting due to the gases escaping from the centre. I really like the idea of producing a painting that shows its movement and somehow try to incorporate our dependancy on it.

Still keeping my options open, i have been looking at fires opposite... water. I have specifically been focussing on the sea and tidal movements. I have made a video recording that i will post onto my blog.

My new project theme is 'Movement'. For this i will be researching different forms and ideas of movement, this investigation is to help me choose a direction in which to take my own work in relation to this theme. I will be using primary and secondary resources to support my work, this will help me to narrow down my ideas, foccusing on a specific subject. I will be demonstrating my planning skills using an activity log that i will be updating on a regular basis. This will include all my milestones, my aims and objectives and any other planning of collecting resources and self set deadlines.
